H4H Federation
Curtis Leung

Chief Executive Officer

Hi! I’m Curtis Leung, currently a Cognitive Science student at McGill University. I come to Montreal and Heart 4 Heart from Calgary, Alberta, the heart of the new Canadian West. Growing up, I’ve always tried to make others happy. Cliché as it sounds, seeing other people smile makes me feel good, especially if I was the one who put that smile there. Outside of school, I devote myself to cooking , music, or anything I can share with others. Giving can change the world by changing worlds of people, one gift at a time. Maybe, with Heart 4 Heart, we can all help change the world too, by changing the worlds of these children who we work to give the gift of life.

Shirley Liu

Chief Financial Officer

Hello! My name is Shirley Liu, and I am currently studying dentistry in Leeds, UK. Since I join the Heart 4 Heart family in 2014, I am delighted to work with all these warm-hearted and highly motivated individuals in the federation. It is incredible to see our charity growing from a student-run, non-profit organization in Montreal into a community with enthusiastic people from all over the world. As the CFO of the team, I am in charge of managing the federation’s account, while collecting and monitoring profits and expenses over different chapters in Canada and the US. With our effort together, I hope we could minimize the disparities among different regions of the world and save more young lives in the near future.

Lisa Xu

Chief Operating Officer
Webmaster

Helllo! My name is Lisa Xu and I graduated from McGill University (B.Sc.) where I studied Neuroscience and Psychology. I started my journey with Heart 4 Heart in 2014 during my time in Montreal and I am proud to continue to be a part of this organization. After moving back home to Vancouver, I pursued my endeavors for working in critical care and completed my accreditation as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at Thompson Rivers University and I am currently practicing bedside at Royal Columbian Hospital in various units such as the ICU, cardiac surgery ICU, neonatal ICU, emergency trauma bay and hospital wards. It has been truly inspiring to see Heart 4 Heart’s growth facilitated by so many compassionate and determined team members. I am honoured to continue to be a part of this organization by taking on the role of COO of the H4H Federation, to facilitate the synergy and organization among all H4H chapters as well as to advocate H4H's mission statement. The feeling of enabling ourselves to return opportunities to kids with CHD is indescribable – all I can say is that nothing in the world lights up quite like a genuine smile on a child’s face.

Joshua Feld

Media and Communications Manager

Hi Everyone! My name is Joshua Feld and I recently graduated from Dalhousie University with my BSc Honours in Biology. I am now working as an outreach worker at the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Society of Yukon (FASSY) in Whitehorse, YT. I work with adults with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder to help them navigate the various medical and social challenges associated with their condition. I have for a long time been passionate about heart-health related initiatives, volunteering with Paramedics in Toronto to teach students CPR in public schools, fundraising for the Heart and Stroke foundation and advocating for increased CPR awareness and greater accessibility to AEDs in schools and public buildings in Ontario. In 2021, I re-established the Dalhousie Chapter of the Heart4Heart charity and have been immensely grateful to find so many others passionate about raising awareness of Heart Health and global health inequity while raising funds to sponsor lifesaving procedures for children in need. I am excited to continue with Heart4Heart as the Media and Communications Manager, where I hope to promote the amazing work all the chapters are doing and continue to increase awareness for this important cause to help more children have access to cardiac care and an opportunity to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
